Summary: This position entails operation of Jubilee Arts, a comprehensive art program that uses art as a catalyst for social change, as a tool for empowerment, and as a tool to learn our history and change our future in Baltimore. Jubilee Arts provides over 15 art classes (in ceramics, visual arts, dance, and business) four days a week with four annual semester sessions as well as cultural activities to both children and adults and serves over 2,500 people annually.
Key responsibilities include:
● Strategic Leadership - Sets the yearly goals and vision for the JA team.
● Stakeholder Cultivation - Establishes a strategy to attract, engage, recruit, and cultivate program stakeholders.
● Data Management - Develop the process for capturing and tracking essential data to describe the impact of program offerings.
● Program design - Regularly assess program offerings to determine if they add value to our participants and the program as a whole.
● Fundraising - Work with the IOC Senior Leadership team to develop the organizational strategy for raising monetary support.
● Technology - Assess the various needs for technology amongst our Jubilee internal and external community to see who has adequate equipment to participate in our various initiatives.
● Management - Direct and manage work of employees to meet programmatic goals and outcomes; utilize creative problem solving to address challenges
Required Skills:
● Minimum of two years of arts administrative experience, preferably in areas related to performing arts and/or community-based arts programing
● Commitment to working with artists, City personnel, and members of the Sandtown/Winchester community
● Demonstrated success in developing and implementing community-based arts programming.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, ability to negotiate contracts.
● Strong organizational skills and ability to accomplish multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
● Proven experience with capturing, managing, and interpreting data.
● Ability and willingness to participate in evening and weekend events and meetings
● Proven work experience in a supervisory role
● Bachelor’s degree in the arts or related field
Preferred Skills:
● Excellent computer skills and WEB knowledge required (MS Suite, Google applications)
● Masters degree in Fine Arts or Business management
● Fundraising and grant writing experience.
