Job Title: Youth in Business Program Assistant- (PART-TIME)

Schedule: Flexible schedule with mandatory availability during afterschool programming, Monday-Thursday, 4:30pm-7:30pm. Expected to work some weekends.

Compensation: Minimum $22,000-$25,000

Position Overview:

The Youth in Business (YiB) Program Assistant is a vital member of our team, supporting the Program Manager in delivering a dynamic and impactful experience for high school-aged youth. The Program Assistant will work closely with youth participants, helping them develop their entrepreneurial skills, and providing administrative support to ensure smooth program operations.

About Youth in Business (YiB):
YiB is a program of Jubilee Arts that cultivates the entrepreneurial leadership skills of high school-aged youth by providing hands-on experience operating an art-based business. Through the Youth in Business design collective, youth learn how to run a successful business as a team, selling high-quality art products and achieving cooperative financial sustainability for youth business owners. Youth are supported in leadership development within the program, in addition to career and higher education planning support, to provide them with long-term economic independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Program Manager in supervising and supporting youth during afterschool programming, sales, and special events.
  • Provide logistical support for program activities, including scheduling, coordinating field trips, selling opportunities, and managing supplies.
  • Support the development and execution of youth-led business initiatives, including product design, marketing, digitizing designs, and sales.
  • Help manage program communications, including social media updates, email marketing, and creating promotional materials.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as tracking youth attendance, managing payroll, and maintaining inventory records.
  • Facilitate workshops and activities in areas such as ceramics, graphic design, business skills, and health and wellness.
  • Help to recruit and onboard new youth participants, as well as support alumni in paid leadership roles.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year of experience working with high school-aged youth in an educational or creative setting.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Digital Design systems, Procreate, or any form of digital design.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (or similar software).
  • Experience with social media platforms and content creation.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable teaching and working with Adobe Suites.

Preferred Skills:

  • Passion for the arts and community engagement.
  • Experience in graphic design or familiarity with Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Experience in teaching or facilitating youth workshops.
